The Kona Coffee Council is a volunteer, non-profit community based organization of coffee farmers, processors and others involved in the coffee industry. It began in 1985 with the mission to promote and protect and education about 100% Kona Coffee.
The Kona Coffee Council publishes a newsletter, runs educational courses for its members on all aspects of coffee cultivation, participates in the annual Kona Coffee Festival held each November, promotes Kona Coffee at trade fairs, hosts farm and mill tours for visiting farmers, roasters, processors, and tourists, and runs an Estate Program to help promote the increasing number of estate label coffee producers.
Membership is available to farmers, processors and associates (roasters, buyers, coffee chops, individuals, etc). A one-year subscription is only $25.00, and includes the monthly newsletter. All proceeds go to help the Kona Coffee Industry.
